"Terrific value in quiet area. Room was spacious and bed large and firm."

Special Tip

We had to turn the fridge to MAX setting to get it working.

Pros

Spacious room contained mini-fridge, microwave and coffee-maker. Curtains blocked eternal outdoor lights fairly well.

Cons

Breakfast too late for us early risers. 630-7 would have been perfect. Blanket too heavy. I spent half the night lowering heat to tolerate it.

"Good value" 5/5

"It the perfect place to lay your head at nice when spending some time in Monterey. The hotel doesn't have many accouterments though, but that's ok if you aren't planning on spending much time there. There is a small pool, but with the weather in Monterey being a bit on the cool side, I doubt it gets much use. The rooms are decent size with a ok bed. It's not the most comfortable but I've slept on worse. The only major gripes I could really come up with is that there was only 1 trash can in the room (which is in the bathroom) and that the cable tv system only offered 22 channels and no program guide (though there was free HBO. The pros though are that there is quick access to Highway 1, and it's a very short distance to the ocean (about 10 blocks). There is also a park near by and also a McDonalds, for those time where you need a fast meal."

"Very nice place in a very convenient location, the room was comfortable and nicely furnished. Breakfast at 8 though is a little bit restrictive for people that like to get an early start"

"Much nicer than I expected! So glad I opted not to share a triple or quad with my coworkers at the Hyatt for the same price!"

Special Tip

My room near the back was very quiet.

Pros

I got an online price of about $65/night for a king single. It was the nicest budget place I've ever stayed. Mattress good, towels new and fluffy, shower nice and hot. Large mini-fridge,plus small microwave. No smell of either dirt or bleach, just clean a

Cons

Breakfast too late for me to use. No nearby coffee shops/markets. Hotel next door has restaurant(I didn't try.) Pool was tiny and unheated (what did I expect for a budget hotel in November?) Toilet got clogged, but they immediately took care of it when I

"Great value for a clean and quiet stay" 5/5

"Checked in for the night around 4pm. Easy check-in, and no issues. Friendly staff, and the guest check-in area is very well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior, because the exterior of the Stage Coach looks a little dated. I was given room 108, which is located on the 1st floor. This room sits in the corner of the L-shaped hotel facility. It's a nice room, and tucked away from any noise from the parking lot. The window actually has a nice garden view with flowers. My only complaint is that during the night, the sounds of footsteps can be heard from both wings of the hotel and converges onto room #108. These footsteps are not only from other rooms, but from the stairwells as well. I'm not sure if other rooms have this characteristic, but it seemed like it was magnified in my room specifically. My friend stayed in room #201 on the same night, and when I was in his room, I didn't hear any of the footsteps. The next morning, I had to check out by 7:30am. The registration office was locked, and there was no breakfast (I was told there would be continental breakfast available). By the time I needed to leave, I just used the night-time phone and spoke to the hotel manager letting him know I was checking out. No issues...just bummed I didn't get breakfast. Not a huge issue for me, so not a huge knock on their scores."

Quiet, Incredible Staff, Comfortable, Hidden Gem, No Frills

Pros

Staff very friendly, and makes you feel right at home. Rooms are clean, and provides cable television on flat-screen LCD's as well as free Wifi.

Cons

Pillows smelled a bit like the previous guest. Recommend spraying with disinfectant or deodorizing spray.
