"Stay with Good Amenities" 5/5
"The location is very good right off the highway, nestled next to a quiet neighborhood full of flowers which you'll walk through to get to a nice, large park, Fisherman's Wharf & other attractions near by. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They gave us good recommendations (and discounts) for local restaurants. The front lobby was under reconstruction but that didn't affect check-in/out. The small property is nicely landscaped with pretty bougainvilleas, other flowers. "

Book King Suite room for best stay
We loved eating the packaged muffins/danishes.
No pool to speak of but this does not matter with all the great amenities nearby.

"Good Location & Friendly Staff" 5/5
"It is one of our best Convenient & Happy stay. Room was private, secure, surrounded by FANTASTIC flowering, so that was very romantic. Room was gorgeous and super clean, modern with ALL of the nice little touches. We had coffee, our own fridge, hair dryer, big screen TV and Soap smelled wonderful. Nice sized bath room and good sized tub. Room has pleasant view of neighborhood. A/c worked well (something I need a lot). Bed firm and felt great, slept very well. Sheets were top quality and felt good. Great visit, ran a bit late on check out time and asked for 1/2 hour over and they granted it without problem. We will come back to this one for sure. "

"Better & Enjoyable Stay" 5/5
"On our two week road trip, this was best lodge proved a comfortable and relaxing choice. Staff were really good & our check in was made nicely. We were personal attended by Owners & it made us great impression Our room was quite large for a hotel of this type and had obviously been recently refurbished and was very clean and well organized. Once the new reception and breakfast area are completed, I'm sure this place will be even better. Happy to recommend & will stay again "

"What a Deal!" 5/5
"In a typical hotel search, I usually exclude hotels with less than a 3-star rating. With two small kids, I appreciate cleanliness and safety. However, Monterey is one of those areas with few choices in that "in-between" range, so I took a risk and booked a King room at the Stage Coach Lodge. The result? A comfortable night's sleep at a fantastic rate! After an efficient check-in, we entered room 108, which is quietly tucked away in the corner of the motel. It was so clean that I wasn't compelled to impulsively tear off the bedspread, and my son's white socks remained white! While the TV had less than a few dozen channels and the toiletries were minimal, the TV was a large flat-screen and the toiletries sat on a granite bathroom countertop! It's all in the details, and the owners didn't miss a thing: curved shower rod, large-carafe in-room coffeemaker, good WiFi, decent-sized in-room fridge and microwave, and no fewer than 3 overhead lights and 3 lamps to illuminate the room. Plenty of floor space gave my kids room to play and allowed me to set up the little one's portable crib without the chance of stumbling into it in the middle of the night. With the exceptional Dennis the Menace Park and the Monterey Sports Complex (indoor pool/waterslide and 2 hours of daycare for 5 bucks!) nearby, the location perfectly suited our family plans for the day. Upon our return home, we realized we forgot a beloved stuffed animal in our room. No problem, said the helpful gentleman on the phone. He'll ship it back to us right away. Now THAT is service! A 5-star experience at a 2-star price? Yes, please!"
Hidden Gem, Roomy
Room in the back corner is large and protected from any parking lot noise.
Updated decor and amenities, clean, helpful staff, easy check-in and -out.
The "Continental Breakfast" must have been named after a very small continent!

"Good Place to Stay on a Busy Weekend in Monterey" 4/5
"Nice, adequate, at $100 a night. I remember when a modest motel room was $80."
Quiet, Comfortable, No Frills
Breakfast was OK. A bagel and cream cheese would be nicer than the packaged pastries.
Comfortable beds, clean. Staff was very accommodating.
Heating unit was extremely loud when it came on during the middle of the night. For some reason, it came on louder than when we had it on prior to going to bed.
